Curriculum Intent

The Religious Education curriculum at Spa is resourced through Kapow, and developed to empower our pupils to forge meaning and understanding from the religions found in modern and diverse Britain today as well as encouraging pupils to thrive in their own spiritual, moral cultural and social development. We aim to foster the respect and values of people’s choice that come from exploring religion through a series of planned questions. Pupils will develop their understanding into what different religions believe, how they express this and how people live following their religion’s values. This allows pupils to reflect on the values and beliefs that they hold and how they contribute as citizens of this world. Our love for reading lets pupils explore these religions through texts, quotes, stories. From this all pupils are encouraged to think creatively when answering ambitious questions. This allows them through a variety of media, to develop expressive and well-reasoned answers, whilst developing both tolerance and consideration to people with different beliefs to them.
